Itinerary:
Lets go do a scramble on Mount Wilcox on Saturday, July 25. Bring your mountain boots for the trail (12 kms, +3hours, for Elevation Gain of 335 m (1,100 ft). Mount Wilcox is a prominent peak right in front of the Columbia Icefield. I have never done this summit but heard about the incredible scenery on the ice field. Expect a long day out with some wind over the treeline and good scrambling on rock with perhaps some snow (I was in the area last WE).
Required Items to Bring:
Good wind stopper layers, first aid kit, necessary layered clothing, trekking boots, enough food and drink for a long day, parks pass.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Trekking pole, sunscreen, camera,

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   The trip will start at the Icefield Centre parking lot 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Will be easier to regroup. Directions: From Calgary head north-west on the Icefield Parkway to the Banff/Jasper park boundary. About 5 hours of drive to the Wilcox Creek Campground Road on the east side of the highway. The trailhead is less than 50 meters off Parkway. If you go as far as the big Icefield Centre you've gone past it.
Carpool Departure Time:   06:30 AM
Carpool Location:   To discuss

Notes:
We will need to camp at the Wilcox Creek Campground (first come first serve). I will camp there on Friday night and Saturday night.
