Itinerary:
7 am meet at carpool 7:10 am depart carpool, 2 hr drive to the headtrail 9:30 start hiking 4 pm finish hike, drive home 6 pm arrive at carpool
Required Items to Bring:
- sunglasses - small pack with snacks/lunch and 2 litres of water - rain jacket/poncho - sturdy hiking shoes - dog leash and poop bags - blister kit - sunscreen - bear spray

Recommended Items to Bring:
- spare light shoes for crossing water if it's high on the Flats - mosquito spray - electrolyte salts if hot weather is in the forecast - camera

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   15 km return, 470 m elevation gain. If meeting at event: Take Hwy 1 west Exit onto Hwy 40 and follow for 50 km Turn right onto Hwy 742 and follow for 22 km Meet at trailhead Burstall pass day use area (opposite Chester Lake parking lot)

Carpool Directions:   Carpool: meet at green recycling bins on West Valley Rd SW (just past The Wedding Pavillion and close to Calgary West Campground)

Notes:
Dogs must meet the following requirement: - be friendly with other dogs - respond to recall - follow the group if taken off leash - be able to complete the trip, or the owner needs to be able to carry the dog There is a chance of showers on Saturday Hot temps My dog is a 45 pound 3-year old Japanese Akita, friendly with other dogs and 99% of people

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
