Itinerary: |
This is a great route for starting the Alpine
season with 3rd, 4th,
and 5th class terrain. It is a long day with
exposed scrambling
sections that could require short roping and
several short class 5
pitches of Trad climbing. We start at the
Cougar Creek parking
lot in Canmore. From there we will hike up the
creek ,
scramble/climb up to the ridge, ascend the
summit block and
then return on the regular hiking trail.
Note there are several water crossings along
the trail, so please
bring extra shoes for the water crossings.
Participants must be fit and have prior
experience on exposed
3rd, 4th, and 5th class terrain.
When you sign up, please indicate your previous
scrambling and
Trad climbing experience.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
