Itinerary:

How to suck less and be more better at…. is a monthly series designed to help facilitate ongoing peer learning. Speakers are volunteers who feel somewhat knowledgeable and are willing to help others achieve basic knowledge in an area- they are by no means experts, and may in fact not be the most knowledgeable person in attendance. The goal is to help improve the knowledge and skill level of all members who participate on mountain trips through regular skill updates. DIscussion and participant input is welcomed during sessions.

This course will enLIGHTEN your strategy for moving cheese, vegetables, greens, bacon, booze and other valuable (or non valuable) items long distances in mountainous terrain in the winter.

We will cover a few designs of sleds and haul systems including the famed Bald Mule land rocket (patent pending) and other tricks to get your heavy s#%@ where it needs to be.

Tyler has carried his full winter load plus heads of lettuce, blocks of butter and copious quantities of food and is very experienced carrying way too much stuff to far off places. He has extensively tested the “land rocket”, a hybrid of the a Mueller and Baldwin designs (lets call it the BaldMueller). The sled is versatile, effective, and most importantly, cheap. Tyler will show you how to build a BaldMueller and might even help you build it.

After the session, people will be heading to Side Street Pub and Grill at 1167 Kensington cres NW. Feel free to continue the discussions or berate your presenter.
