Itinerary:
Meet on Friday March 20th at 5pm at the Our Lady of Assumption School (7624 39 Av NW) and drive to Golden where we spend the night at the motel (must have hot tub!). Next morning we will drive to Rogers Pass where we will check the current avi conditions at the Information Centre. Based on that info we will decide the objectives for the day. At the end of the day we will return to Golden and spend the second night at the motel. Sunday morning we will drive back to Rogers for another day of skiing. We will return to Calgary on Sunday night (8-9 pm). The cost of the motel will be app. $50 per person (double occupancy). This trip is primary geared towards BIT's with some back-country experience. You have done few day trips locally but would like to experience big mountains and alpine terrain. Skiers with more experience are also welcome but suitable BIT's will get the priority. Prerequisites: AST1 or equivalent, comfortable skiing black diamond runs at the ski resorts. Bring your backcountry and avalanche questions as we will be discussing route finding, group management and avi safety while we tour. But the main objective will be to find some good turns!
Required Items to Bring:
Ski gear (Tele or AT), avi gear, food, water.

Recommended Items to Bring:
camera, sunscreen, sunglasses..

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

I'll need a firm commitment you plan to attend before booking the hotel room. There may be a charge if you confirm but then cancel within the motel's 3 day room booking cancellation policy.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
