Itinerary:
Climb at the junkyards practicing multi-pitch tactics and getting to know each other. We'll practice belaying a leader, seconding/cleaning a pitch, transitions, etc. As we work through the day we'll discuss potential multi-pitch objectives for Sunday, based on group dynamics, route conditions, and weather. Participants should have at least some experience top-rope ice climbing and must be able to provide a safe belay. No leading or ice multi-pitch experience is required.
Required Items to Bring:
Helmet, harness, belay device,boots, crampons, ice tools, personal tether, personal prusiks, warm belay jacket, at least 3 pairs of gloves/mittens, food for the day. You will also need a pack you can climb with that will fit everything you've brought.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Ice screws, draws, (if you have them). Camera, hiking pole, thermos.

Carpool Directions:   Meet up with the rest of the Ice Review participants at 6:45am to sign waivers.

Notes:
This trip is part of the annual Ice Review. After our day at the Junkyards, we'll join up with the rest of the ice review at the Tunnel Mountain campsite to stay the night.

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
