Rogers Pass Motel Mayhem 5! We have killer weekends
in the pass. We ski hip deep pow even when everyone
else in the pass is fighting crud. How? Because we
know how to read a weather forecast, we know how to
read a contour map and we go where the snow is, not
where 'everyone goes'.
So, back to the Pass we go; bring your snorkel.
This is January in Rogers Pass. Basically - we have
another guaranteed weekend of killer snow. Just like
the past four trips, the game plan is to do some
motel accessed skiing in Rogers Pass.
We'll be leaving from Our Lady of the Assumption
School at 6pm and then staying at the Dreamcatcher
Hostel in Golden for the next two nights while bagging turns by day. This trip is friendly to a
broad range of experience levels; you don't
have to be a great skier, but you have to be willing
to be involved in discussions. This motel mayhem will
have a more beginner focus than normal - so if you
haven't been to the pass before, this could be your
chance.
You should be prepared for long days (not monster
days, but we're not going to be taking it super easy
either) and you should be prepared to be involved in
your safety decisions. You should be prepared to pay
$70 for the two nights combined. There's a
kitchenette so we'll do a communal meal on Saturday
night which will probably include a slow cooker and
whatever you, the aspirant participant feel like
bringing.
Required Items to Bring:
It's a motel based ski touring trip, if you
don't know what to bring, email me. Bring Avi
stuff. Bring stuff to eat.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
Trip Feedback If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
