Itinerary:
We will attempt to climb mount Rae in a winter setting, which will inlcude travel on steep rock/snow and ice. The terrain condition will make this trip seem quite alpine in nature and participants need to be comfortable with exposure and climbing in cold conditions. If the conditions are ppor, we will need to select an alternative. We will have an educational component to this trip, featuring the topic of winter scrambling as was outlined in our October 8th session
Required Items to Bring:
ice axe, crampons, harness, locking biner, two slings w. biners and prussic, helmet

Recommended Items to Bring:
extra gloves/mitts and cold waether layered clothing, headlamp, sun glasses, thermos. one person to bring a 30 meter rope

Event Directions:   We will meeet at the school yard near the sunnyside garden cengre, just off the Transcanada Hwy at the west end of town

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
