Mixed Climbing 101 by Sean Isaac
Getting bored with regular-old ice climbing? Want to learn an exciting new form of winter climbing? Ever stuck in a situation where the ice runs out?
Mixed climbing is climbing on both rock and ice with ice tools and crampons. The skills are enjoyable in their own right or are very useful for taking to alpine climbing. Learn the dark arts of drytooling to unformed icicles by one of Canada's top mixed climbers.
Sean has been ice and mixed climbing for 16 years and has written two books on the subject: a guide book to the Rockies and a how-to book. he has been teaching mixed climbing techniques for the past eight years.
