Itinerary: |
Climb as many cracks as we can until we're
tired at the U of C indoor climbing wall.
There is a class going on
at 4pm so if you're arriving late you may not
get as much climbing in.
If you have climbed at U of C before, please
bring your belay certification card. If you
haven't, please be prepared to complete the
orientation and belay test. The belay test is
offered at 11am and 1 pm on Sunday.
On your first visit and prior to accessing the
wall, you must:
Sign a liability waiver.
Demonstrate your ability to put on an
approved harness, tie in with a figure-8 knot,
belay safely using proper checks and
communication as well as catch a planned and a
surprise fall.
Complete a gym orientation
This process takes between 10 and 20 minutes.
Once completed, a climbing card is issued to
you.
Please Note: There is no instruction given
during the Belay Test.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
