Itinerary: |
Come learn the ins and outs of the Purcell Prusik. How to tie one,
how to use it for rope and crevasse rescue, and what else it's good
for!
I'm looking to share some of the information I learned from Cyril,
Matt and Nick on this year's sumer leadership course. Expect a
fairly informal night, with some initial demonstration and then the
opportunity to practice/discuss as the group wishes.
This will not be an in depth rope rescue or crevasse rescue course,
more of an overview of the Purcell Prusik and how to use it within
these situations.
|
Required Items to Bring: |
Warm clothes and a headlamp.
|
|
Recommended Items to Bring: |
10m of soft 6mm accessory cord if you want to make your own set
of Purcell Prusiks. A short piece of rope, a belay device, several
locking beaners and several non-lockers if you want to practice
setting up rope systems with the Purcell.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
