Itinerary: |
If you are looking to get up a high peak in K-country, join me this Saturday to ascend Mount Rae 3218 meters).
The trip is a moderate scramble with an exposed summit ridge to the final top. The elevation gain is just over 1,000 meters. As we are likely to encounter snow en route to the ridge, an ice axe is required for the trip and crampons can be useful as well in the event that some ice has formed under the snow. There are some narrow spots along the ridge thus a good head for heights is a definite asset.
I will bring along a short rope just in case we end up having to negotiate a tricky spot.
