Itinerary:
We will head into Elbow Lake on Friday for three nights of backcountry camping (option to come in Saturday am also). The approach trail is short (1.5km), wide and easy - but a little steep! (relatively speaking). The plan will be to do some day hiking, play some games, possibly ride bikes and generally just hang out in the great outdoors. We will head home on Monday afternoon. This trip is oriented to families with younger children who want to enjoy a fun long weekend "in the wild."
Required Items to Bring:
Porters (parents), camping gear, warm clothing, food, cook stoves, some group gear, etc. (Packing list will be provided.)

Recommended Items to Bring:
Kid's bikes, games, instruments?, etc.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Departure is from the Elbow Lake Day Use Area, off Highway 40

Notes:
Sign up early to ensure campsite availability!

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

Given the nature of this trip (i.e. young children in the backcountry), it will be cancelled in the case of inclement weather. Camping fees are non-refundable.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
