Itinerary:
This trip is being offered as part of the 2014 ACC Rock Review. You must be attending the event (ie. camping overnight) in order to participate in this trip. Mother's Day Buttress is an 8-pitch gear climb on Cascade. It's a good intro to multi-pitch gear climbs in the Bow Valley. Participants MUST be comfortable scrambling to 5.4, competent belayers, capable of climbing an outdoor 5.7 as a second, AND able to remove gear from the rock as a second. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll try and find something else or similar to do. When you sign up, please send a short description of your climbing experience and some recent outdoor climbs you have completed.
Required Items to Bring:
helmet, harness, shoes, approach shoes, belay device, personal prussiks, personal anchor, small pack w/ warm clothes, lunch, water, emergency contact info

Recommended Items to Bring:
camera, sunglasses, sunscreen

How to Get There:
Carpool Departure Time:   08:00 AM
Carpool Location:   Canoe Meadows
Carpool Directions:   We'll leave from the Campground together in the morning and figure out a carpool.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
