Itinerary:

We will make an attempt to ski up Crowfoot Mountain. This will be an 1,100 metre day, and is a 20 kilometre round trip from the parking area at Bow Lake. Please see Alpine Ski Tours in the Canadian Rockies by Chic Scott for a route description. There is also a good description by soistheman online. We will leave Calgary by 5 am to arrive at Bow Lake and be skiing by 8/830 am.

Please Note: I have not done this trip before. Some routefinding may be necessary. If conditions don't feel right, we may just try for Little Crowfoot or find some turns lower down in the drainage or trees. We will be taking glacier travel gear so participants must have experience with crevasse rescue/glacier travel.

Required Items to Bring:

AT, splitboard or telemark skis with full skins. Harness. Alpine ice axe. Glacier travel gear. Shovel, probe, transceiver. Sense of adventure ;-) and money for beer.

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
