Itinerary:
The plan is to ski to the back of Chickadee Valley, go over Chimney Col, spend the night at Boom Lake and, if conditions allow, the next day go over Consolation Pass and out at Taylor Lake. If conditions are not stable enough to go over Consolation Pass, we will follow the traditional Chick-a-Boom route out of Boom Lake and back into Chickadee Valley. Full disclosure, I have never done the Chick-a- Boom circuit before, nor have I tried to go over Consolation Pass. People need to have some previous winter camping experience as well as be able to ski steep slopes with a heavy backpack on.
