Following on from last year’s very successful trip
to Bolivia, ACC-Calgary is gearing up to go to the
Cordillera Blanca region of northern Peru in June
of this year, a range that is home to 25 peaks
over 6,000m.
The plan is to base ourselves in the Ishinca
valley initially, targeting three peaks in that
area:
Ishinca (5,530m; PD-),
Urus Este (5,420m; PD-)
Tocllaraju (6,032m; D)
We will have full Basecamp services during that
time, as well as Guides for the climbs themselves.
During the last week of the trip, we will re-
locate to the Llanganuco valley, and target either
Pisco (5,752m; PD) or, if we are feeling strong,
Chopicalqui (6,354m; AD-).
The trip goes for the first three weeks of June,
airfares are currently c.$1000 and the cost of the
local Logistics will be $2000+/-.
If you are interested in taking part, put yourself
on the Wait List and I will send you the full
Participants’ Package t/w an Application Form and
Medical Questionnaire.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I should say
that, as organizer, I have a strong preference for
Participants whom I know fairly well and ideally
have climbed with before.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
Trip Feedback If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
