Slide-Show Double-Header: i) a Review of The North
Face Leadership Course by Paul O'Brien-Kelly,
and ii) a short presentation on some of the
Trekking Peaks of Nepal in the Everest, Annapurna
and Langtang regions by Robin Owens and Dana
Engler.
Paul OBK will present a review of what he learnt
at the TNF Leadership course last summer - if you
have not yet taken the course and are curious
what's involved, this should tell you all you need
to know. Then Robin Owens and Dana Engler will try
to tempt you to fly to Nepal someday, with
pictures and tales from several different trips
over the years to tackle some of the relatively
friendly "Trekking Peaks" of Nepal - these are
typically peaks around the 6,000m mark which can
be climbed in one good alpine day from a basecamp
close to snowline, usually after a very pleasant
week-long trek up one of the valleys in the
Everest, Annapurna or Langtang region. Enjoy!
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
