Please note that we (Nathalie and Lida) are co-coordinating this trip but in order to manage the group better we have split the trip into two postings. So please only sign up for one of the two trips as they are the same.
The Yoho valley offers deep snow, great terrain, peaks to bag and solitude away from the crowds! Not to mention a very nice hut to return to every night! The only catch is that the hut is 23km and 675m from the highway carrying a heavy pack. Day one we shall ski to the Stanley Mitchell hut, 9-11 hours depending on snow conditions. Days two and three will be spent hopefully getting up some peaks and getting in some great skiing (the Presidents, Mt. McArthur, Isolated Peak). Day four we will ski near the hut and then head back to the highway. This trip requires ski mountaineering skills as most of the objectives involve glacier travel, steep snow climbing/rock scrambling and the use of crampons and an ice axe.
Meals will be everyone's own responsibility.
