Itinerary:

I tried leading this trip on the weekend and to be honest things didn't go very well. On the upside, this time I will know what not to do:)

The plan is to meet at the Our Lady of the Assumption School parking lot, coordinate carpooling, sign waivers, and leave by 7:30 AM (please show up 5 - 10 minutes early). Drive out to Kananaskis and park across from the Sawmill parking lot.

As it may be cold again this weekend, we will want to keep moving and have a good pace. Depending on conditions we may decide to do the loop; participants should be comfortable skiing for 6 - 7 hours and it is important that you be in good shape

Required Items to Bring:
Backcountry skis/board, skins, boots, poles, warm clothing (touque, mitts, jacket(s), pants), food, water, sunglasses/goggles, headlamp, avalanche transceiver, probe, and shovel.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Camera, helmet.

How to Get There:
Carpool Departure Time:   07:30 AM
Carpool Location:   Our Lady of the Assumption School parking lot

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
