North Facing Paradise - Meadow Lodge is the launching pad to some of the steepest and longest runs in the Esplanades. Tremendous alpine skiing can be found right out the back door of the lodge. Numerous, long north facing runs characterize Meadow ski terrain. A short hike to Paradise Ridge is access point for some of the Esplanades best west facing runs. Trip Overview - This one week powder hunt takes place at the amazing Meadow Lodge in the Esplanade Range of the North Selkirk Mountains. The Esplanade range has a typical settled, mid-winter snow pack depth of 4 meters (over 50 meters cumulative snowfall) and a 200+ day season.

The terrain around Meadow Hut is more challenging than the other areas in the Esplanade. Participants need to be confident with route finding and skiing/riding steep long runs. A good level of fitness and a sense of adventure are a must along with common “snow sense”. There is no glacier travel required so leave the harnesses and ropes at home. Splitboards, AT and Telemark are all equally welcome on this trip.

Full information on hut and terrain can be found at: http://www.goldenalpineholidays.com/about.html? change_season=winter

Food - PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN FOOD PLAN!

Our resident ACC Calgary chef Sera will be provided prepared dinners for us. We will only need to heat and eat (and clean up) each night. The cost for these prepared meals will be no more than $70 for the week. Participants are still on their own for breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks.

Cost - The estimated total cost of the camp per person is $950 based on 12 participants. We will take up to 15 in which case the cost will drop to $835. This cost includes hut fees and flights. To register for the camp simply sign on to the waiting list and I will contact you and discuss the trip to confirm your participation. A nonrefundable deposit of $400 will be required to hold your spot on the trip. The balance will be expected by January 31, 2014. Email payments made to treasurer@acccalgary.ca is preferred. Cheques must made payable to the ACC Calgary Section and mailed to the ACC Calgary Section, PO Box 1995, Calgary, AB T2P 2M2
