Itinerary:
Are you into winter scrambles, pushing the limits on snowshoe trips, or curious about the skills required to tag some summits in winter? Would you like to develop your winter mountaineering skills with instruction from an ACMG guide? Then read on! The ACC Calgary Section is hosting a “Winter Mountaineering course” on Mar 08-09 2014. This is designed to review the set of skills needed to safely complete a trip to the mountains in winter conditions. Participants must have solid scrambling skills and be comfortable dealing with winter conditions. This is a unique opportunity to advance your skills alongside your peers, under the supervision of a highly experienced, fully qualified ACMG Mountain guide. Topics may include, but are not limited to: route selection, route finding, gear selection, pacing, additional training required and choosing appropriate climbs. Cost $165

Notes:
The course will be taught by Cyril Shokoples, an internationally certified mountain guide. Cyril has a long history with the ACC, particularly teaching the flagship TNF Leadership courses. He also regularly trains Canadian military SARTECHs and Canadian Parks Service Wardens, amongst many others, and has received Distinguished Service Awards from both the ACC and the ACMG.

Cancellation/refund policy : Once the trip co-ordinator has made selections,qualified participants are only moved from the wait list once payment has been recieved.Cheques can be mailed to the ACC Calgary Section,PO Box 1995 Calgary, AB T2P 2M2. Please write course name on cheque.Or send an INTERAC e-Transfer to the ACC Treasurer using the Treasurer@ACCCalgary.ca email address. No refunds once payment has been recieved.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
