Itinerary: |
This will be a first trip of the year for many folks so ensure your
gear is functioning properly! Make sure to really get your gear
out of the closet and inspect it, go to MEC and buy some extra
tip loops/ tail clips or whatever you need. Better yet, attend the
Backcountry Intro Ski Field Trip Nov. 9th for a great refresher on
what to bring for a comfortable trip in Ze Mountainz!
Carpool or meet at the Elk Pass trailhead, near Upper Kananaskis
Lake in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and ski into the hut that
evening. The trail in is 9Km long but only 200m elevation gain
and then a 200m downhill! So as long as people are ready to leave
the trailhead at 5 we should be into the hut relatively early.
Wake the next morning to what appears to be some nice skiing in
the area according to the topo map. I think there are also some
great ice-climbs in the area, for those of that persuasion! Ski out
Sunday after noon leisurely, as the hut is not far from the road and
is relatively flat. (I think in fact up to the pass it is a groomed trail)
We can divide up into food groups for cooking once we have an idea
who is coming. The cost of the trip is simply $50 for the hut fees.
Please pay this directly to the National Club House at 403 678-
3200. then cc me your confirmation and I move you to the signed
up list.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
