Itinerary:
This post is based on two possible needs: 1) Just wrapped up the MEC club night and there were a few question on how to cut skins. 2) The Vert 180 requires skins with better than perfect glue, skin glue is not designed to be taken on and off a ski 12 times in 3 hours. Most skins will stopping sticking after 5-8 cycles. 3) Drinking beer alone in my garage is sooo lonely.... Therefore, I want to plan a drop in night where people can just show up at the Breakey's (across from George Gell park on 16th ave) to either reglue skins, trim new ones or drink beer (you can do two of the three). This will be held just after the Vert 180 prep so people can attend both. As a recommendation, your new skins should be as wide as the tail of the intended ski. Please bring skins, trimmer and skiis. For a reglue, please bring your skins and the wax paper they came on if you have some. My typical reglue is to melt and strip the first layer of old glue and pine needle and add a very thin new layer of glue on-top. Skins will need to hang for 12 hours. Yes, it is a bit late, but if you need your skins earlier, just give me a ring and I will try and help.
