Itinerary:
I should do a better sales job... Do you really want to stay in Canada in October? It is too cold to climb (rock), to warm to climb (ice), too wet to scramble and to dry to ski. The only thing to do is whine, and who wants to do that? Or, you could head out on an adventure with a big chunk of the section executive, drink some cheap rum, climb some classic rock and generally enjoy the desert during its most pleasant time of year. We have 4 committed so far. Target areas will contain 5.6-5.10b trad for 3 of us and 5.10b+ trad for Mark. Plan in to leave the evening of October 11 for somewhere in the US that satisfies the follow conditions: 1) Best available weather 2) Classic rock 3) Cheap beer and camping A destination will be decided last minute with group input, and could change mid-trip. Likely destination will be California, but we could head as far east as Devil's Tower and as far north as Smith Rocks. We will return Sunday, October 20.
Required Items to Bring:
Only mandatory items are your Passport and climbing partner. Climbing and camping gear would also be good. This trip is coordinated, not lead. Please try and sign-up with your own climbing partner. This will facilitate organizing camping and climbing gear and will help ensure everyone has someone to climb with. Climbing in as 3 is OK, but I much prefer pairs.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Spare change of underwear.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Drive South
Carpool Departure Time:

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
