Itinerary: |
This trip offers an excellent opportunity to climb some classic
but remote routes in Glacier National Park. The Glacier Circle
Hut is a full day of travel with heavy packs from the transcanada
highway over the Illecillewaet icefield and down into glacier circle
(map 82/n3). From the hut we have access to classic lines such
as the East Ridge of Mt Fox, a traverse of the Mt Dawson massif,
and an ascent of Mt Wheeler.
I propose we depart Calgary in the afternoon of july 30 - spend
the night at the campground near the trailhead. hike into the
hut on july 31. Have Aug 1 to 5 for climbing and hike back out
on August 6.
Participants will be pre-screened and there will be a pre-trip
meeting to go over logistics, what to bring, etc.
The David Jones Selkirks-South guidebook has good information
on climbing routes in the area of the hut.
I am booking the hut as a section trip. The cost per person
(assuming 6 persons) is $125 for the week.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
