Itinerary: |
Come and join us for a day of backcoutntry skiing in the Lake Louise area. We will meet at the Lake Louise Hostel on Sunday morning around 8am and we will ski one of the many objectives in this area.
What exact objective will be depending on the avalance and snow conditions as well as on the weather forecast. We might end up hiding in the trees somewhere or climb a mountain like Mt. Niblock.
This is not a beginner trip. You need to be confident in avalanche rescue and be able to skin up around 1300+ vertical meters. Some glacier travel might be involved depending on the objective. You also need to be able to ski down safely in a variety of snow conditions, in trees etc.
If we never skied together, please send us a short email explaining your experience in backcountry skiing.

Required Items to Bring: |
Personal avalanche gear (beacon, shovel and probe) is a must. No analog and single antenna beacons will be allowed, only digital ones with at least two antennas. A list of items to bring will be sent out once we have the group together.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
