Itinerary: |
The Stanley Mitchell Hut is a great base for ski mountaineering objectives and yo-yo'ing in the area, with an unfortunate approach of 23 km/675m that will take most of a long day (hence a very early start on the Thursday). The next three days will be spent on trips in the area such as the Presidents, Mt McArthur, and Isolated Peak with likely one day of yo-yo'ing thrown in as a break. Of course all this will depend on avi/weather/snow conditions.
All participants need to be reasonably strong skiers with minimally AST1 and crevasse rescue training, and some experience in ski mountaineering.
Attendants will be pre-screened and then confirmed once the $100 hut fees are received (details on payment will be send directly). Carpool and gear will be sorted once the group is determined.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
