Itinerary:
We are into shoulder season, however, there are still decent scrambles to be found and if you do not mind moving over a thin layer of snow, join me this Saturday for a scramble in K-Country. I am hoping to head up to Fortress Mountain and wish to open this trip up to all long time as well as new members that have not been out on a trip with the Calgary section ACC. If we have an enterprising group we will make it all up the 1,100 meters of elevation gain to the summit of The Fortress and, depending on snow conditions, may even get the chance to employ our ice axe.
Required Items to Bring:
Helmet, ice axe, crampons, gaiters, sturdy boots, personal first aid kit, head lamp, layered late season clothing, gloves and toque, sun glasses, enough food and drink for the day, trekking pole

Recommended Items to Bring:
A thermos with something hot to drink

How to Get There:
Carpool Departure Time:   07:30 AM
Carpool Location:   Recycling bins
Carpool Directions:   The parking lot next the bins is located off Valley Ridge Drive SW. VR Drive parallels the south side of the Transcanada Hwy. and is accessed by taking the Valley Ridge exit (one exit past the Stoney Trail interchange) and going underneath the Hwy to gain this road.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
