Come and join me this Saturday for a late season scramble that will most likely see us tromp through a bit of snow and test our scrambling abilities, as we move from scrambling to alpine like terrain, if the conditions are snowy and icy. I will take a look at conditions on Friday and make a decision on the objective that day.
Under consideration are the follwing peaks; Mount Rae, Rimwall, The Fortress, Mount Rundle (from Banff)
If we end up going for Rae, with the snow up high on the summit ridge, we will wish to make use of a line, as we negotiate this exposed terrain.
Required Items to Bring:
Helmet, ice axe, late season layered clothing, gaitors, toque and gloves, personal first aid kit, sun protection (eyes and skin. )
In case of Rae add:harness, belay device, locking biner, a couple of slings and biners
Recommended Items to Bring:
enough food and drink for a good day out.
a good attitude and strong legs
