Itinerary:

The outdoor climbing season is upon us!

Dig the climbing gear out from behind the skis and come on out to begin tuning your body and to reconnect with other climbers! For those new to how I coordinate my climbing nights... throughout the night we make sure and mix it up so you get a chance to climb with someone more experienced than yourself to learn a few new tricks! We've got a great group of climbers of all levels and always have lots of fun - you're sure to be pleasantly tired-out and covered in chalk but smiling from ear to ear by the time the night is done!

If you've never done a belay test before, please see the section titled Belay Test below.

If you don't know me, I'll be wearing a blue bandana. If you can't find me, try looking up on a wall! Can't miss me ; >)

If there are 10 or more participants (not including me), it will only cost $10 each. Otherwise, it will cost $13 each, which is still discounted from the standard day pass of $16.

Belay Test
In order to gain entry to the gym, you need to pass a belay test. It requires technical knowledge of climbing basics. It is a TEST of your grasp of this knowledge and is not something that you can fake, "wing", or hope for the best on if you have never climbed or have not climbed in a long time: you will not pass and the owners will not allow you to use the facility. Please note that club members are unable (not permitted) to provide instruction. The solution - if you are new to climbing or need a refresher - is to first go to any gym in the city and they can provide a basic lesson to get you started. Feel free to join us after you've made this initial step!

If you do know how to tie in and belay, but you've never been to this gym before, you must be able to pass the belay test without help you can do this at the beginning of the evening. You may want to show up a half hour early to get this out of the way to ensure maximum fun time.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you!
