Itinerary:
Costs: $55/person for one day of instruction Location: Yamnuska Bluffs Course Content: A one-day course designed to build upon a basic skills learned in “Intro to Crevasse Rescue” (April 17). Techniques to be covered include a review of dividing the rope for glacier travel and the basic 2:1 drop loop rescue. The advanced subject matter will focus on the 6:1 rescue system with variations (like limited gear and reversing the raise) as well as self-rescue and dealing with an unconscious victim. Prerequisites: Participants should have a working understanding of the basic techniques covered in “Intro to Crevasse rescue” by either taking that course (this year or last year from Sean or a similar provider).
Required Items to Bring:
Harness, helmet, belay device, two identical non-locking biners, at least 2 locking biners, 1 double-length shoulder sling, 2-7mmx5m Prussic cords, and a pack - sufficient to carry climbing gear/spare clothing/lunch/drink, rain gear

Recommended Items to Bring:
Warm clothes (expect to stand around and listen/learn) and then participate, a pulley, sun screen and camera

Cancellation Policy: Courses are offered at a discounted rate based on a 1:6 ratio of instructor to student (40% discount from standard rates). Due to the popularity of these clinics, full payment must be received to book your spot. There will be no refund for cancellations. Courses will run regardless of weather unless the guide deems conditions unsafe then either a back-up option will be executed (i.e. rock rescue in the climbing gym if torrential rain) or an appropriate date will be rescheduled. This is to be decided by the guide the evening before.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
