Itinerary:
Ski to Chester Lake, do some transceiver practice, eat lunch, tour around a bit, ski back.

While not a BITS trip, this outing is intended to pick up some of the overflow from the very popular BITS outings. So preference will be given to backcountry novices, especially those who attended the Nov. 20 BITS orientation.

This is an easy outing requiring no more than easy blue resort-skiing skills, or good cross-country skills. The trail is not exposed to any avalanche hazard, however we will bring avi gear both for practice and to keep our options open.

Youth under 18 are welcome with a parent attending.

Required Items to Bring:
Backcountry skis(AT or telemark), skins, boots, poles, avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel, warm clothing (hat, glove/mitts+spare, jacket/pants), food, water.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Sunglasses, camera

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
