Itinerary:
We will do GPS navigation exercises in small groups to facilite learning how to use your GPS unit in the field. We will be in Wind Valley, south of Canmore, or an alternate location if conditions require.
Required Items to Bring:
GPS receiver, pencil, 1:50000 map including Wind Valley. (eg: Gem Trek "Canmore and Kananaskis Village" Appropriate clothing/boots for off-trail travel.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Baseplate compass, operator's manual for your GPS receiver, GMRS radio

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Carpool from Calgary, LEAVING at 8:00 AM. Plan to be there by 7:45 AM. Let me know if you want to meet in the field.  
Carpool Departure Time:   08:00 AM
Carpool Location:   The recycling bins by #1 Highway and Stoney Trail
Carpool Directions:   West on #1 from Calgary, exit right to West Valley Rd, spin around the roundabout, under the highway, then back toward Calgary.

Notes:
In case of high demand, preference will be given to mentors in the Section mentorship program, or those who want to become Section trip leaders.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
