Itinerary:
The CAOC (Calgary Area Outdoor Council) is putting on fully subsidized Remote Responder Wilderness First Aid courses and the ACC has been able to secure a course date for 4 of our members. The course, taught by Rocky Mountain Adventure Medicine, is designed for the day adventurer or group member who recreates in a wilderness setting. The course is based on standard first aid principles with a focus on back-country situations, and features one day of outside scenario simulations. Required Items to Bring:
Days 1 and 2 (Indoors): Pen/pencil, lunch, comfortable clothing for the practical elements of the course, your questions. Day 3 (Outdoors): Pen/pencil, lunch, clothing suitable for active use in the outdoors during changing weather conditions (layering is best). Also bring a day pack containing items you would normally carry on a day hike such as water, sunscreen, sunglasses, toque, gloves, hat, bug repellant and first-aid kit.

You must drive eastbound along Memorial Drive NW in order to turn into the City of Calgary parking lot adjacent to the building.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
