Itinerary:
Volunteers Wanted for ACC membership drive Are you an enthusiastic club member? Do you enjoy speaking with the public? The ACC could use your help. We're looking for volunteers to talk to people about what you enjoy most about being an Alpine Club member, at Mountain Equipment Co-op, Sunday, April 25. We will need volunteers to staff an information booth for two-hour shifts Sunday, April 25. Shifts will go from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. If this is something you could do, please contact Jacqueline at louiej@telus.net Thank you.
Notes:
While at MEC, we will also be cross-promoting the Calgary International Mountain Film Festival, which is organized by Spirit West. The mountain film festival takes place April 19, 21, 23 and 25 at the Plaza Theatre. Films go from 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. each evening and there will be door prizes and other giveaways. For tickets and more information call Spirit West at (403) 263-1381 or visit www.outdoorspirit.ca Here`s the movie line-up: Monday, April 19, the films are all about cycling; Wednesday April 21, the films are all about water sports (Finding Farley, Grand Prize Winner and People's Choice Winner at the Banff Mountain Film Festival, is the headline film with director Leanne Allison in attendance). Friday, April 23 and Sunday April 25 are both mountain film nights. Friday, the headline speaker is Canmore-based climbing star Will Gadd (15 Adventures in 45 High-Speed Multi-Media Minutes: Speed Soloing Mt. Robson to Climbing the World's Hardest Ice Routes, Right Here in Canada). Will's presentation will be followed by several mountain films from around the world. Sunday April 25, the headline speaker is ACC Calgary member, Ben Stephenson, presenting his 2007 film, Life on Logan, which follows Ben and two of his friends as they climb Canada's highest peak via the King's Trench Route. They were the only team to summit that year. Ben will also speak about the history of climbs on Mount Logan. His presentation will be followed by several international mountain films. ACC Calgary is sponsoring this last night of the film festival (Sunday April 25), and we'll also be sponsoring a new local film making award, to be presented at next year's Calgary International Mountain Film Festival for the best locally-made mountain film. Come on out and support this year`s mountain festival, and please consider making a mountaineering film for next year`s festival and competition. For more information about the film festival and local film making award, contact Steve Bommer at (403) 263-1381. Please forward this message to others who might be interested. Thank you.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
