Itinerary:
The Training and Leadership Committee is hosting a superb all day informative seminar and workshop on Mountain Weather, to be conducted by Rod Plasman starting at 9am on Saturday, April 17th. Rod comes highly recommended by the National ACC and will share a vast amount of knowledge with us that will allow us to be more weather wise when we are outdoors. Starting right from an explanation of the basic mechanisms that create our weather, we will learn to recognize weather patterns, local anomalies and conditions associated with various weather systems. This seminar is a "must attend", for all those that plan extensive trips outdoors and are trip leaders, to be informed in advance of what is coming your way and be able to plan accordingly. Along with first aid training, weather prediction is a vital component in your inventory of safety skills. Rod will also have us go outside and do some field work that day. We at the T&L committee are honored to have Rod provide us with his expertise and hope that this educational workshop will be of benefit to our section and its members. For those of you that have attended my workshop on mountain weather in the past, this should not regarded as a repeat, but feature a much greater depth of information and analysis.
Required Items to Bring:
Pen & Paper and on account of it being a full day, bring some lunch.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   CAOC is a historic red brick building, located at the southwest corner of Memorial drive and 10th Street NW along the north riverbank.

Notes:
As we expect to start promptly at 9am, please be there a few minutes early.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
