Itinerary:
This is a delightful overnight ski traverse that I have done several times, and it is likely that with good conditions we might accomplish it in two days. However, I want to include a third day in case we get bogged down in sugar snow or wish to have a day to ski around the Scarab/Mummy Lakes area, or to climb on or more of the Pharaoh Peaks. We start by leaving a vehicle at Borgeau, then drive around to the Vermilion parking area; we then skin up and climb steeply up the trail to Honeymoon Pass, from which we descend to Verdant Creek, making at that point a right turn. We ski another few km, and then climb a wide basin (moderate avi concern here) to Scarab Lake and make our first camp. The next day is either climbing or exploring, or if the party wishes, a ski over Natalko Pass, down to Red Earth, up to the Monarch Rampart, and then down to the Healy trail, and out.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
