Itinerary:

The plan is to do some ski camping and take advantage of the last of winter.  We will go into a destination Saturday morning, set up camp, and ski around the area the rest of the day, then camp overnight, and ski Sunday and out late Sunday afternoon.  There is a possibility we will make it a 2 night trip and leave Friday morning, but that's unlikely.

This will be a moderate level trip.  Expect 1000 to 1500 m elevation gain at a moderate pace.

If you have been wanting to get more powder in this year, or try winter camping now is your chance.  This is not a trip to a glacier or a traverse.  This is just camping and skiing to make the most of the last of winter.

Required Items to Bring:

Ski touring gear.

No glacier gear.

Camping gear:  you will need warm gear (winter sleeping bag, warm down jacket/pants/Thermarest, etc).

Details to be worked out.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

The weather forecast is cold.  Please do not sign up thinking the weather will be +15C again next weekend.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
