*** Film Fest Night & Social PREMIERE! ***

PLEASE NOTE: You must actually SIGN UP to attend this event due to theater seating restrictions - don't just show up. Thanks!

This is the premiere night for a new event series that I'll be running this winter!

The Film Fest Night & Social event series aspires to bring a collection of inspiring and entertaining films in the style of the Banff Film Festival to warm your cold winter nights, as well as giving you a chance to get social and chat over a bevy afterwards.

Please bring a non-perishable food item to go to the food bank, if possible.

In this first installment in the series we check out First Ascent, a fantastic film that has scooped a pile of awards at film festivals worldwide. It explores places where even the boldest have yet to venture. Places too remote, too dangerous, or just too difficult. A film about the passion, the spirit, and the glory of being the first. First Ascent, features today's top climbers as they lay siege to steep faces and soaring alpine walls in pursuit of climbing's pinnacle achievement - the coveted first ascent. Not only that, this film is sure to get more than a few laughs out of you! Some of the features take us deep-water soloing in Thailand; climbing perhaps the toughest crack in the world, the Cobra Crack, right here at home in Squamish, BC; alpine climbing in the snowy Himalayas, wacky urban climbing of some buildings in Hollywood, and much more!

This event is sponsored by your ACC Calgary Social Committee, Sender Films and the Reel Rock Tour - probably the best-value film fest I've been too... watch for it later this summer in Calgary!

Running time is around 90 minutes. After the film we'll head a short walk across the street to Original Joe's for a bevy, where we can meet some new faces and chat!

We have Cardel Homes' state-of-the-art theatre reserved for our private use.

- Food and drink are NOT permitted, with the exception of bottled water. DO NOT consume food in the theatre.
- Smoking is prohibited on Cardel property. This includes the parking area.
- Alcohol is also not permitted on site.
Required Items to Bring:
- Non-perishable food item > to go to the food bank.
- RESPECT of rules > no food or drink other than bottled water, otherwise we won't be allowed use of the theatre.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons.
