Itinerary:

This mentorship event is part of the AMP (Alpine Mentorship Program) organized by the ACC Calgary Section, with ACMG Mountain Guide Brent Peters from PeakSTRATAGEM.

This is an AMP 2 level trip:

AMP Level 2 is to further the skills of “advanced beginner” to “intermediate” mountaineers who have done a handful of alpine and lots of scrambling or ski mountaineering trips in order to allow them to move from PD to AD level.

Participant requirements: previous alpine experience participating in PD trips or difficult and/or winter scrambles, rock climbing beginner, sufficient level of fitness to carry 45 pound pack over 2 days with 1200m elevation gain per day.

COST:

The cost for this event is $445 and includes 2 days of mentorship with an ACMG guide from PeakSTRATAGEM.

ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Meet in Exshaw.  The day will be spent reviewing and developing alpine rock skills.  Topics may include anchors, transitions, short pitching, multi pitch skills, leading leading a rope and other skills that will be useful in the alpine.  The route choice will likely be Tall Ships in Grotto finishing at the Recharted Sea for Day 1.

Day 2 -  Summit attempt of Mt Fable using the skills developed on Day 1, ensuring safe and efficient travel over rock in an Alpine Environment.  Route will be selected on day one and is dependent on the skill level and goals of the participants.  As this is part of the AMP program all participants will be expected to contribute to the progress of the climb.

This is your chance to take charge while under the mentorship and coaching of an alpine guide.

** For this trip to run one participant needs to be a competent rock leader (experience approved by Dom and Brent) and able to lead the 2nd rope on Fable.  Brent/Peak Stratagem guide will be close by giving guidance/mentorship*  The cost for this individual will be $225.
