Let me know if you need to carpool.

Required Items to Bring:

I have 1 70m rope and enough draws for one one climbing team.  Please bring your standard personal climbing gear (harness, draws, anchor, etc).

Grigri is preferred, if you have one.

Bring your helmet.

Let me know if you have a rope.  If we don't have enough I will grab some from the ACC.  60 m is plenty for most routes there.

Snacks water sunscreen etc

From Canmore, drive west past the Banff park gates.  1.57 km past the gates, you will turn right onto an unmarked dirt road.  The road is about 100 meters before a large green sign that says "you are in avalanche country".

From Banff, you have to drive outside of the Banff park gates, turn around, and then drive west again.  Follow directions above.

Carpool Departure Time:   09:30 AM
Carpool Location:   Canmore TBD

Notes:

I am happy to go over refresher material or give advice anywhere that is needed.  However, there will be no instruction for first time climbers.  It is assumed that you have both belayed and lead climbed at least in the gym, and you have practiced making anchors at some point in your climbing career.

I can usually make it up a 5.12, so if you want to try a route that is at the top of your grade then that is probably the safe limit to know you will be able to get your draws back.

Dogs are welcome.  Please keep dogs in control at all times.  Please do not bring any pets that would be considered a disturbance to the climbing area.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
