Itinerary:

The goal of this weekly event is to create a supportive group for people to work on fear/bravery and finding flow while climbing. The focus will be on finding the right challenge level to stretch our comfort zones and focusing on learning and growth.

Participants will set their own goals: it could be trying to get comfortable at heights, taking lead falls, taking top-roping falls, whatever you are challenged by. There is no minimum grade or difficulty for this.

All participants must be comfortable lead belaying, but there is no requirement that you lead routes yourself if you aren't comfortable with that yet.

This is not a coached session, just a chance to build a community of people who can support you with your goals and work on facing fear together. Hazel Findlay is one of my favorite speakers on this topic.

Agenda: We will meet at the top of the stairs at 6:30 for waivers and have a quick check in about everyone's goals for the night. That can help people find partners who might be working towards similar goals. As we get a couple weeks in we can spend a couple minutes each night sharing what progress everyone is making, what has worked and ongoing challenges.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
