Itinerary:

The goal for this trip is to explore some of the terrain south of Mt. Haig (Castle Resort).  The plan will be to park at the sled staging lot beside castle, then head in on snowmobiles.  We'll stick mainly to established trails, so backcountry/powder riding skills aren't strictly necessary, but you should be comfortable as a driver or passenger on a mountain sled with a pack and your skis.  Hopefully we can find a fun spot to park the sleds and skin up for some laps or a decent climb.  The group sized is 4 because I can provide use of 2 mountain sleds, so 2 riders each.  You may need to ride side by side (one on each running board).  If others with access to snowmobiles are interested we can expand the group size a little.  Participants will be asked to kick in a gas money for the machines and transportation of them (minimal).  Skiers and split boarders are both welcome.

If we haven't ridden together please email me any relevant info on your experience with skiing and sledding as I will be vetting group members.  Participants need to be competent backcountry skiers with at least AST1.  Some experience snowmobiling off of groomed trails would help, but not strictly necessary.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Same as the ski resort but the parking lot over on the left as you are arriving.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons.
