Itinerary:
Black Feather Canyon is a crag located by Lake Minnewanka with the climbing areas being an easy to moderate 45 minute approach from the day use area. Grades at the crag are mostly in the 5.10a - d range with only a handful of easier grades sprinkled throughout. I'm more than happy to set a couple topropes up but if you're comfortable leading and building anchors, that would be ideal! All ages and abilities welcome (however be sure you're comfortable climbing those grades)! Note that preference will be given to those comfortable leading such grades if registration nears capacity.

The plan is to meet either at Rafter Six Ranch at 8:00 AM (for those staying the Friday night or for those wanting to carpool from there) OR meeting at the Lake Minnewanka day use area at 9:00 AM (see inset map below). We'll climb as much as possible then leave the crag around around 4:00 PM to be back at the Ranch in time for dinner!

I will be reserving club ropes and anchor kits for the day, but if you could bring your own gear to ensure that we have enough, that would be fantastic! If you do plan on bringing personal gear, please tell me in the notes section when signing up.

Friendly reminder that helmets are mandatory for both climbing and belaying. Please don't forget to bring one!

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch with me via email (vinzafy@gmail.com) or phone (403)561- 0988.
Required Items to Bring:
Helmet (strictly required - no helmet - no climbing), harness, locking carabiner, belay device, rock shoes.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Sport climbing gear, your own rope (if you don't mind other people top roping on it, we will also be bringing club ropes and anchors), water, snacks, camera, Oreos, Fireball!

Notes:
Note that Black Feather Canyon is NOT set in stone. If enough participants request a different crag, changes can be made.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
