Itinerary:

Over 55's Trip

  • Start at Sunshine Ski area parking lot.
  • Hike trail to Healy Pass
  • Off-trail circuit to ridge north of Healy Pass, and  loop back to main trail for return to parking area.
  • Expect to see glacier lillies in full bloom. Bring your camera - we'll move at "Photographer's Pace".
  • Distance about 16 kms. Total elevation gain about 1,100 metres.

 

Required Items to Bring:
  • Summer hiking gear for rain or shine.
  • Food and drink.

  • Camera.

Sunshine Ski area parking lot:

  • Turn off from Hwy 1 is 5 kms West of Banff.
  • Follow road 8 kms to ski area parking lot

Carpool Location:   Recycle bins at Hwy 1 and Stoney Trail
Carpool Directions:  

Recycle bins are on South side of Hwy 1 just West of junction with Stoney Trail.

To get to the recycle bins you have to go 1 km further West on Hwy 1, then loop back on service road on South side of highway.

Note that because Celia and Ray live in Canmore we won't be at the carpool. People who want to carpool are expected to organize themselves.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
