I can't make Ice Review this year so Plan A was
to make this an Ice Review warm-up for Friday
12th -now I might have an adult commitment in
the AM so Plan B - let's make this an Ice
Review Cool Down of sorts for those that also
have their priorities completely screwed up and
can take mid-week days off to climb.
I'd like to bring a couple folks on this that
are newer to ice climbing. By 'newer' I don't
mean you have never put on a pair of crampons
or have never ice climbed before I mean -
Perhaps you went to Ice Review a few days
prior, perhaps you had an amazing time and
Second Coming-like experience realising that
ice climbing is in fact AMAZING and fun (when
done safely & properly!).
If you didn't go to ice review but have
completed an intro to ice course before or
other ice climbing courses run by an ACMG
certified guide and want to start getting
mileage on your tools then this is the day for
you!
Tentative plan would be to go cragging
somewhere in K Country or in the Bow Valley. I
shall put up a couple ropes and we will spend
the day top roping, working on climbing well,
developing good technique and discussing
whatever people want to talk about (there are
no stupid questions on this day - Fear I may
regret saying this :) ).
We have a few options re. climbing location
that will be discussed via email & finalised by
Monday 15th (evening) when I see who has signed
up and weather/climbing/driving conditions have
been considered.
Please send me an email with your ice climbing
experience. We also need a volunteer to pick up
ropes/gear from Calgary for this day.

biner & belay tube (ATC or similar), water,

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
Trip Feedback If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you!
Click here to be directed to our "Contact Us" page and contact the appropriate Chair person or the Section Chair. This is also a simple way to make your section executive aware of any praises, suggestions or problems you may have with any area of the Calgary Section of the ACC.
