We will be doing a winter scramble to the top of
Opal ridge, heading up from Fortress Station
along Hwy 40 to gain 1,000 vertical meters to
the summit at 2,600 meters asl. It will be a
reasonably paced scramble with both snow and
rocky sections en route
A good scramble to exercise your legs and stay
in shape for the summer climbs. We plan to make
this a short day out and hope to be back in town
by 2:30 pm
Required Items to Bring:
good scrambling boots, layered clothing, gloves,
mitts toque, gaiters, ice axe, ice walkers,
sunglasses first aid kit, enough food, and drink
