Itinerary:
This Mountain Navigation Course will start with the basics in an evening classroom session covering map, compass, and navigation basics. We will follow-up on Saturday June 20th with a full-day hike outside putting our skills into practice. Anticipate off-trail travel on the 20th. This is suitable for first time users or as a refresher.
Required Items to Bring:
Thursday: Compass and NTS Map 82 O/3 Saturday: Above and a day pack with suitable clothing and food.

Recommended Items to Bring:
A GPS and Altimeter are handy but not required.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Be ready 7pm at the CAOC Building, 1111 Memorial Drive NW, Calgary. Access is from eastbound Memorial Dr approaching 10th St NW. Meeting time/location for Saturday June 20th will be discussed on June 18th at the classroom session.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
