Hopefully the ice should be getting into nice
shape by this time so we'll be getting out for
some Icefields parkway fun. We'll leave town
on Friday night, stay at the hostel Friday and
Saturday and head home on Sunday after
climbing.
Bring all your own food for breakfasts /
lunches and we'll do a pot luck for Saturday
night, details TBC. Beauty creek is pretty
rustic and you will need a sleeping bag,
probably winter weight in case you're on the
bottom bunk.
A few beginners are welcome, as long as you
come with your own personal climbing gear, can
belay and look after yourself in the
backcountry - we'll take a view on this when we
know who's coming along.
Required Items to Bring:
Ice tools, crampon, boots, helmet, headlamp,
suitable clothes, hostel gear, food, booze and
item for Saturday night pot-luck.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Ropes, screws, draws, anchors, sense of fun and
adventure
How to Get There:
Event Directions:
Head west and then turn north at Lake Louise. If
you get to Jasper, you've gone too far
Carpool Departure Time:
04:00 PM
Carpool Location:
Our Lady of Assumption school, off Highway 1
Carpool Directions:
Carpool will be confirmed nearer the time. Some
people may head up early on the Friday.
Notes:
We could probably get more than the 9 spaces in
the Hostel, so please register and we'll see how
much interest there is.
Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
We'll need to get us payment for the hostel up
front to move you to the confirmed list. This
is $26 pppn and is non-refundable if you drop
out, unless we can find a replacement.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
Trip Feedback If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you!
Click here to be directed to our "Contact Us" page and contact the appropriate Chair person or the Section Chair. This is also a simple way to make your section executive aware of any praises, suggestions or problems you may have with any area of the Calgary Section of the ACC.
Thank you for your response.
